It is the experience of many people moving in to small country towns in Tasmania that they are unwelcome. So, this Blog describes the small town unwelcome we received when we moved to Branxholm 20 years ago.

Christina Giudici demonstrated how easy it is to make your own biochar. She demonstrated the use of a low-tech low-cost method for making biochar in a pit kiln using prunings and fallen branches from around our property.

This is our story of Tin Dragon Cottages over the past two decades: We are tree-changers, passionate about North East Tasmania. We have jumped feet-first into tourism. You, our wonderful guests, are helping us to feel our way. What an adventure! Made a few mistakes, encountered some ugly resistance, but still having fun. 

In the early evening, just after a noisy thunder storm, Samantha gave birth to a white male cria. We named him Rumbles. He was wet and shivering, and possibly a couple of weeks premature.
