Photography Workshop

January 18, 2020 by Christine

Thursday 9th to 14th January 2020: Last week Tin Dragon Cottages hosted Charlotte Reeves Style Lab Photography Workshop in our new venue, The Barn.

The Barn is a charcoal coloured shed with a front deck sitting on a hill in the bush.

The Style Lab Photography Workshop

The instructors selected nine accomplished photographers to participate in this four-day photography workshop. Participants traveled from as far away as Hawaii, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Poland. During the workshop participants were guided by the instructors to develop their own creative style. For example, camera technique and post photographic editing styles were explored.

The Instructors

Style Lab Workshop principal instructors are Charlotte Reeves and Craig Turner-Bullock. The program also included special international guest Alicja Zmysłowska from Poland.

Field Work

The workshop crew met with talented dogs and their owners on our property and other locations such as Bridestowe Lavender, Little Blue Lake and Hollybank Forest. Hence participants photographed the celebrity pooches against fabulous outdoor settings. Of course, you can see examples of their work on Instagram and Facebook, too. So search for #stylelabworkshop!

Workshopping

Participants worked with their instructors in the Barn most mornings. The instructor’s presentations featured their own inspirational images as well as technical instruction.

Wining, Dining and Socialising

Despite the intense work schedule, participants had opportunity to socialise and relax. Firstly there was drinks on the deck at sunset. Then each morning Craig lead sunrise yoga on the deck. Of course there was late night supper in the Barn after the strenuous field work, too.

Finally, the program concluded with an Aussie-style bar-be-que by the river – at sunset of course!
