Self-Contained Spa Cottage for Two
Chintock is a studio spa cottage near Derby in Tasmania and is the ideal romantic getaway for you and the one you love. This accommodation has a well-equipped kitchen and laundry facility and TV & DVD player in the lounge room. Furthermore it has a separate bathroom with double shower and toilet and a private outdoor BBQ and spa area.
So, it is the romantic getaway you are looking for near the Blue Derby mountain bike trails!
You are supplied with all linen, towels and toiletries and car parking is immediately behind the cottage.
The cottage is well insulated with double-glazed windows and is heated with a cozy gas fire. All our cottages are powered by onsite solar PV, Tesla batteries and micro-hydro generator. To ensure a relaxing stay, all cottages are non-smoking. Wifi is now available in each cottage and there is 4G wireless reception for both Optus and Telstra devices.
So, it is the romantic getaway you are looking for near the Blue Derby mountain bike trails!
Please note we have a two-night minimum for reservations during public holidays, and three-night minimum over the Christmas to new year period.
Reduced Rates for Your Longer Holiday Stay
Our current rate in 2025 for a single night is $280 (2 persons in 2025) and two to three nights is $250 (2 persons). But when you stay four or more nights, the rate reduces. In fact if you stay seven or more nights the rate is only $170 ( 2 persons)!

Guests staying at Tin Dragon Trail Cottages can also book a private session in our our Tailrace Sauna, a unique Derby Tasmania wellness experience. This is a perfect experience after a day on the trails!

What Food is Included in the Spa Accommodation?
Your hosts provide the basics for a brew of tea or coffee, including both leaf tea and ground coffee with stove-top espresso. There is a convenient IGA grocery store in Branxholm for you to purchase items for the remainder of your stay.
Hot pot cooking
For a simple low-fuss meal, why not get the slow cook pot going before you head off for the day? Then, at the end of the day pour a glass of your favourite beverage and enjoy a hot casserole! Here is a simple recipe you may like to try — of course you can substitute a vegan alternative for the suggested meat. All ingredients can be purchased from the Branxholm IGA–just 5 minutes away.
Bar-be-Que
There are two wood-fired outdoor bar-be-ques available for all guests– one between the cottages and one down by the river. One wood-fired bar-be-que is available for The Settlers Hut guests, only. There is also a fire pot available near each of these outdoor bar-be-ques.
Gas bar-be-que
For a small fee, a gas-fired bar-be-que is available to each cottage, except the Settlers Hut. Please purchase this option when your book your and pay for your reservation.

Relaxing picnic by the river
Why not pack up your bubbles – or hot coffee? Then head down to the river bank with a picnic blanket? We can supply a blanket and a picnic basket with plates, cups, cutlery and glasses.
