Richard Klekociuk, a renowned artist and tutor, conducted a coloured pencil art retreat in March this year at Tin Dragon Cottages in Tasmania. The retreat, provided participants with a unique opportunity to learn and improve their skills in coloured pencil art. All our art students commented about how much they had learnt – and how much they enjoyed the coloured pencils retreat. Thank you Richard!
Art retreats are a great opportunity
Coloured pencil art is a unique medium that allows artists to create stunning and intricate artworks. It requires a high level of skill and patience to master, and attending this specialised art retreat provided students with a valuable opportunity to improve their skills.
But, the three-day retreat not only provided the opportunity for students to learn from from a highly skilled and experienced tutor, meet like-minded people and develop skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. The retreat also provided a valuable opportunity for participants to take time out.

What our guests are saying…
I recently returned to Tin Dragon Trail Cottages to attend an art retreat with Richard Klekociuk. The 3 day retreat was informative as well as inspiring. On the first day we took a walk around the bush track to collect leaves to study and draw, so this was a perfect setting for such a nature inspired art experience.
The food each day was amazing. Cooked breakfast plus lunch and dinner that couldn’t be faulted. The hosts ensured that the whole stay was enjoyable. I can certainly recommend attending retreats here! reviewed by Shiraz Sparkles, Tripadvisor (March 2023)
The recent 3 day drawing workshop with Richard Klekociuk wasn’t what I was expecting- it was better! Each drawing/colouring component was different and at times challenging yet rewarding and I admit to coming away from the retreat quite impressed with my efforts and inspired to draw more.
Must also say that the venue was perfect – green, serene and private with a very friendly atmosphere and good food. And to anyone thinking of taking a workshop/retreat at Tin Dragon Cottages I can honestly say “Do it!” you won’t be disappointed. Helena D. March 2023
I recently had the pleasure of conducting an art retreat and having taught art workshops from Hobart to Cairns, I can say without doubt that this was the best venue I have taught at. The passionate owners, the surroundings and the facilities are first class. This is truly a special place. Richard Klekociuk on Google (March 2023)

The first evening was for introductions and bubbles from Swinging Gate Wines!
There was plenty of hot coffee and carbs to keep the energy levels up!
